One of the most important parts of a tennis racquet is its strings.

String Changes:

Strings and racquet frame have an equal role in how a tennis racquet plays and feels. If tennis players want a simple change to their game, changing their strings is the place to start. A simple rule of thumb says you should change your string as many times in a year that you play in a week…

String Types:

There are only 2 types of strings: Natural Gut and Synthetic strings.  Natural gut is usually made of a cow’s intestine.  It is very expensive but is the best string available in tennis. The synthetic strings are divided into a few different categories; Nylon, Synthetic Gut, Multifilament, Kevlar and Polyester. Nylons and Synthetic guts are the most versatile and cost friendly strings out there. Multifilament’s’ are the closest to natural gut at less than half the price. Kevlar’s are for the ultimate string breaker and are the most resistant strings but not arm friendly at all. Finally, Polyester is the most modern and popular string available on the market. They are very durable and offer the most spin potential of all strings by resisting movement because of its stiffness. That’s strings for you in a nutshell…
